Anime North, in collaboration with Gunpla Montreal, SIDE6 and Gunpla Ottawa, is proud to present the Anime North Model & Gunpla Area! These local communities have gathered to help with the event and present to you one of the biggest Gundam filled experiences in North America! Welcome back to Anime North!

We will have one the largest displays of Gunpla and related model kits in all of Canada. Throughout the entire three days of the convention; our 3 clubs will be organizing and hosting the Anime North Model & Gunpla Area where you can learn, build, and even win prizes for your works of art. Come join us and learn the history, how to build, and enjoy the art; that is Gunpla model kits!

Tables will be available for building your favorite Gunpla with your friends and our staff. There will be experienced Gunpla builders on site to help with your work. Tools will be available for use, note quantities may be limited but we will try our best to facilitate. If you have questions or need advice, just ask – we’re here to help.

This year there will be a friendly Gunpla competition on-site, for further information, and how to enter the competition; please click HERE. There are several prizes to be won this year. Even if you’re not going to enter the competition, come check out all the cool entries as they will be on public display.

On top of the medals and prizes the annual John Martin award will be given to the best model kit entered, from all our categories. And if you’re under 18, we also have a Best Junior Builder prize. Start thinking of what kit you will be working on now! We can’t wait to see your entries!

About Gunpla Montreal

Founded in 2015, Gunpla Montreal (GMTL) is the first club in Quebec specializing in Japanese scale models known as Gunpla. Its debut started at conventions such as Otakuthon and Anime North with the help of early Gunpla stores including Sci-Fi Anime. Thanks to its success in conventions, the club has approached several sponsors. Among these, PLAMOD Distributors Inc. is the national supplier of Gunpla in Canada. Following this success, several other regional clubs were born such as Gunpla Edmonton, Gunpla Ottawa, and Side6, and quickly became partners of GMTL. It was from 2017 that the club changed for the better with the help of PLAMOD in order to be able to organize the first GBWC (Gunpla Builder World Cup) in Canada in person, all to represent Canada at the world finals. With the passion of its members and the community that surrounds it, Bandai and Gunpla mark a bigger presence in Canadian conventions and since then, Canada has officially become a representative of the GBWC. Since this sudden entry of Bandai in Canada, GMTL is recognized as a passionate, professional group and above all, considered as one of the first pillars of Gunpla in the province as well as at the national and international level.

About Gunpla Ottawa

Gunpla Ottawa was formed in 2017 and is our National Capital Gundam and Mecha Scale-Modelling Club. Our mission is to provide a place for mecha-anime fans to socialize and share knowledge. We place a strong emphasis on helping each-other and our community and recently held a donation campaign for the local food drive with raised over $4,000 and 150 LBS of food.

About Side6 (Toronto)

Side6 was founded in the summer of 2019 by a couple of Southern Ontario mecha modelling enthusiasts. They wanted to build a community of likeminded builders and stores in Southern Ontario to help raise the caliber of builders in Southern Ontario for competitions as well as create new friends for people with a shared interest. 

The goal from the start was to have in person meets where members could build their kits together, and change what is typically a solitary activity, into a shared experience – adding a social element.
